Freddy "Sez" Shuman, the Yankee uber fan whose spoon-to-frying plate cheers rallied many a Bronx crowd, died on Sunday at the age of 85. I had the good fortune to ring the legendary frying pan at the September 25 game against the Red Sox, my last game of the season and the last time I will ever again get to claim the pleasure. I've been to over 100 games in the last decade or so and I can't recall a time when I didn't hear the reliable spoon clang echo across the old ballpark (and the new one..)
Now, with the passing of George Steinbrenner, Bob Sheperd, and Freddy Sez...all remnants of the Old Guard are gone....

Long live the Three masters!!!!
