Mikhail Prokhorov, David Stern's man in Moscow, is getting ever closer to his dream of owning an NBA franchise. Despite noise from a New Jersey Congressman about Mr. Prokhorov's dealings with Zimbabwe, the NBA Board of Governors is set to approve the Russian Billionaire's application for majority ownership of the Brooklyn/New Jersey Nyets on schedule. This is an exciting prelude to the most interesting free agent market (maybe) ever. Prokhorov was known as a free spender as the owner of the CSKA Moscow Basketball club, and with $24 million in available salary cap space for 2010-2011, Nyets fans should be pretty pumped that Goldfinger, er Prokhorov, is the man in charge.
